Manoeuvres
For the practical driving test, you will need to know how to perform four standard manoeuvres, each involves reversing your vehicle:
Left Reverse
Turn In the Road (Also known as a '3-point turn')
Bay Parking
Parallel Parking
Your examiner will randomly select one of these manoeuvres for you to perform on your driving test.
Your Instructor will help you develop the necessary skills to perform each manoeuvre correctly. Each manoeuvre will require careful vehicle control whilst taking effective observations to deal with other road users and pedestrians.
Be patient - each manoeuvre takes time to master; you will need to practice them many times with your Instructor.
Top Tip: Why not open your window slightly at the start of a manoeuvre, you might hear something coming before you see it!
Hints and tips
You might think of only wearing sun glasses in the summer months, but the low lying sun in winter can be just as trecheourous. It can be at such a low level that wet roads can become almost bright white! Carry a spare pair of driving shades in your car at all times.
Hints and tips:
What side of the car is your petrol cap on?
look at your petrol gage, the petrol pump symbol is usually on the same side as the petrol cap!
Hints and tips
If your windows mist up during cold weather dont be tempted to wipe them with your hand, a ring can easily scratch your window! Use a dimister sponge or cloth instead.
