The Driving Tests

Before you get your full driving licence, you need to complete the theory and hazard perception tests, then the practical driving test itself.

(More info on these test can be found using the menus on the right)

"When will I be ready for my driving test?"

"You need to be able to demonstrate a safe and competent level of driving at all times. When you can confidently and consistently week in and week out deal with all road and traffic conditions and complete each of the set piece manoeuvres first time, with little or no help from your instructor you are then ready, and only then, to take the driving test. Most importantly, you should be aware that you may pass the driving test! This means that you will be on your own from then on, no help or guidance from your driving instructor. When you feel confident to be able to do this - then you're ready to apply for your test."

When booking your tests you will be asked for my ADI number, it is: 290095

 Did You Know?

That with an ever increasing volume of traffic and more and more complex junctions today's roads are some of the most dangerous and stressful there's ever been, combine that with the fact that the driving test is harder now than ever before in its 70+ year history, and you can begin to see why official bodies say that to be ready to take their driving test the average amount of tuition a learner needs with a fully qualified ADI is now around the 45 hour mark, with an extra 22 hours of practice on top of that coming from friends and family, and that  60% of test candidates fail 1st time because of a lack of experience. Give yourself a better chance of being in the 40% of pupils that do pass 1st time by making sure you've had enough tuition and read the appropriate literature, such as the 'Highway Code' and'Driving; The Essential Skills'.

If you want to speed up the learning process, then help your instructor to teach you to drive by showing the following abilities,

Commitment - Patience - Understanding - Dedication

And by making sure that you actually want to learn in the 1st place!
